Elementar ArDB Cloud

With the Elementar ArDB Cloud you can have access to a fully featured ArDB Server hosted by Elementar.

Let Elementar worry about:

  • Security
  • Backups
  • IT Infrastructure (costs, performance)
  • ArDB Server installations, upgrades or maintenance
  • Growth and expansion

The ArDB Server is hosted in the Elementar ArDB Cloud and provides you with a fully functional partitioned ArDB Server account that only you have access to. Your data will become accessible from anywhere in the world.

You have full control over who can access your account and the databases contained within it.

By default you can create up to 10,000 records in your account, shared across as many databases as you choose to create.

Licensing

Currently ArDB licences are only available directly from our distributor network.

Please contact your local distributor for pricing information.

Security

The Elementar ArDB Cloud utilises a robust security model ensureing that your data is securely stored and transmitted.

Data is only accesible by users with the correct credentials and permissions.

The Elementar ArDB Cloud adheres to industry standard security protocols to protect against any malicious practices and uses SSL security to ensure that all transmission of data between a client and server is automatically encrypted.

Multiple access levels and permissions ensure that database stakeholders have the correct level of access to your data.

The ArDB cloud is a multi-tenant application with explicit partitioning of users and data per customer account. The ArDB cloud uitilises data centers that adhere to the highest security certifications and accreditations.

Should you have any specific requirements above any beyond the basic Elementar ArDB Cloud offering, then please contact us to discuss your requirements or alternatively consider an Enterprise ArDB Server.

Backup

Backups are performed automatically and are performed system wide. Backups are performed to ensure that recovery is possible should a system wide failure occur. It is not possible to restore data within an account or database should a restoration be required for any purpose other than a system wide failure. The Elementar ArDB Cloud backup storage policy is:

  • Daily backups are kept for 14 days
  • Weekly backups are kept for 3 months
  • Monthly backups are kept for 12 months

Implementation Time

There is no infrastructure requirements or installation required. It will just take a short time to provision your account and then you can start taking advantage of the Elementar ArDB Cloud.

ArDB Upgrades

All upgrades are included automatically. This means that as soon as we have created a new version of the ArDB server and deem it stable, we will upgrade the server software for all accounts on the Elementar ArDB cloud. You do not have to worry about downloading the latest version of the ArDB Server, performing backups or manually upgrading the ArDB Server.

Infrastructure Costs

With the Elementar ArDB Cloud there are not infrastructure costs. Just pay an on-going subscription and use ArDB in confidence.

Growth and expansion

Should you require additional users or need to expand the size of your database, we offer sliding pricing models so that you can easily scale your cloud account.

Contact us for more information.

Flexible options

We can offer flexible ArDB Cloud options to support any requirements that you may have (e.g. increased number of records, dedicated servers, custom backups, etc.). This can include creating a fully isolated and standalone ArDB Cloud (separate users, data, etc.), seperate to the Elementar ArDB Cloud.

Contact us for more information.

Restrictions

Elementar ArDB Cloud accounts can contain a maximum of 10,000 records. The number of records within your account is the sum of all records within all the databases within your account. The number of records within your account does not include records that are flagged for deletion.

The maximum number of records can be increased – contact us for more information.

Data retention policy

Records that are flagged for deletion do not count towards your maximum number of records allowance.

Records that are flagged for deletion are automatically deleted after 60 days.

The number of records flagged for deletion cannot exceed the maximum number of records allowed in your account. Should you meet this limitation, you can manually permanently delete records.

Closing your account

Should you not renew your subscription, your account will become read-only (supporting export only) to all users and you will have 60 days to either export your data or renew your subscription. After 60 days your data will be permanently deleted.

You can optionally end your subscription at any time, which will start the 60 days period.

Public Cloud Hosting

Why not host your publicly available data in the ArDB cloud (similar to the way that the GNIP database is hosted)?

If you are the data owner and it is available publicly or going to be made available publicly, then contact us to find out how we can help.

Academic Cloud Options

Please contact us regarding the options available to you.
